Its getting close to opening day, and like every year, I empty the fly boxes and start off new again. What better place to start than "Trout"?

Very cool, love the Tups too! Here is a version called the Carmichael Indispensible that I tied up the other day. I found this pattern in a tying book
devoted to western flies by Jack Dennis. Kind of a a marriage between the classic Adams and the Tups!
Keep em' coming CJ!

Buck Henry,
Like the hunter, the hawker and the fowler, the fisherman takes life in finding his pleasure. It is reasonable to ask
of him that he make it as keen and thorough and satisfying, as productive of growth in himself as he reasonably can. For only then can it be the strong and
sensitive pleasure of a civilised man.

Marterius wrote:Martin Yes, I was able to obtain some Lemon Cocker Spaniel fur via a kid that is in my son's rock band. But regrettably the family has since moved from the area so I need to find another source! I have just enough spaneil fur left to blend up another batch of Tups dubbing, which I plan to do in the next few days. I sure hope this batch turns out as good as the first. I think I may choose to go just a bit heavier on the red seal fur this time to get a slightly more pronounced pinkish hue with this batch. Buck Atlanta |
