Here's a rare ATH, that soon will be in my collection. It's a prototype nickelplated S0. Not a reel you'll find every day.

New to me is this Pflueger Progress Bulldog 60 freshly loaded up with Mr. Zhu's DT3 silk. The reel and line will outfit a Leonard 7'6" 3/2
Fairy Catskill.

Just picked up a MIC Hardy Marquis #5 on the 'Bay. Hasn't started the journey from the UK to The Netherlands yet. Was looking for a mint example with
the black spool / polished rim for a long time and this one was just too tempting. Another "around 3 incher" for my small, but gradually growing
collection... (its cousins eagerly awaiting its arrival)

Picked this little perfect up at the FFS this weekend. Nice and tight with a sweet sound. It will go nicely on a 7.5 3oz. rod. I was pleased to find the
ring is centered making for an easy retrieve, as opposed to my 70's model 3 3/8" that is a bother. I guess I will start searching for an earlier
replacement for the 3 3/8" and hope it has the same attributes. It just goes on and on doesn't it. First try at posting a pix. Info on this site is
fantastic. jon |

Sold two reels today, and decided to boost the economy instead of saving it up, by purchasing a new Hardy Perfect 2 5/8" LHW.
Should be here by the end of the week. A neat little reel that will actually be put to good use with my Hardy Graphite Marvel #2 and my Ids Schukken #2/3 bamboo. Great to have (had) some reel budget!

Its made by David Slater circa 1910-1915 and retailed by Bernard

4 1/4" Dingley Perfect | #296 | ||
|
I cleaned this up and am surprised how exact the tolerances are, much closer than my 50's WB reels, Mister Dingley did have pride in his work and the
bearing race, I was so amazed to see how simple Dingley's design was to hold the bearings in the race. Once the bearing was in the race he punched the
brass close to the hole to narrow the hole and enclose the bearing, flipped it and repeated the process on the other side.
This last pic. is the pre-vinegar bath.

Hi Rich, it is 4 1/4 inch. It has a very loud click to it, reminds me of the time I watched the movie "Jaws", just as the shark was taking the bait
there was a close-up on the reel (Hardy Reel I believe) paying-out line one click at a time and then whizzz....... the shark was on!
