GSJ's Fly Fishing Issue arrived today - just thunbling through, it seems better than their typical fly fishing special issue. Thought my subscription had
lapsed .....was going to just let it run out - but this issue is worth a look.

Although I haven't received my fly fishing issue of Gray's Sporting Journal yet, the annual fly fishing issue of Big Sky Journal
arrived yesterday.
Great photos, art and articles by Gierach, Schullery, Prosek and others. BSJ is out of Bozeman, MT. If they don't sell it where you live, try www.bigskyjournal.com Regards, Flyman

That's good to hear about Gray's - I gave the managing editor his first fly fishing lesson on my pond when we both worked for the National Wild Turkey
Federation down in South Carolina.

I still like Gray's - actually quite a bit, but this is the only sporting magazine that I subscribe to anymore. I just haven't looked into what else is
out there. I always read Jim Babb's article first, then the Traditions column. John Hewitt's articles are always good (although I guess he's been
under the whether recently - hope he recoups ok!). There's usually one or two other bird or dog articles that'l make me wish I had time to hunt. I do
wonder how much influence David Foster had on the overall quality of the journal. I'll miss his articles.

I did two shows for Gray's Sporting Journal Television when David Foster was at the helm - he was very much in charge of what went onscreen during an
episode of their show. I've known David for a long time - he has a very strong personality, so I suspect that, like the TV show, the magazine was very much
a reflection of David's view of the world. He was the boss (ok, ok, Billy Morris is REALLY the boss), so that's the way it should be. I think, anyway.
