Looks like all low-grade Chubb components. altho the ferrules look a little later than the other metal. Those components were sold to any and everyone, so
could be a Chubb or some small shop or individual. I hope you did not pay a Granger price for it. Best Regards, Jerry

Low-grade Montague or H-I. I'll fitted ferrules, possibly due to being not original or tobeing fitted to a shortened section.

The winding check looks like low-end H-I or Montague. I can't tell from the pics, but most Montague cone shaped winding checks I've seen had at least
a couple of etched lines, even on the lowest-end models. A lot of H-I low-end models have a smooth winding check like this with no etchings on it. If there
are no etched lines on the winding check and ferrules, I'd be pretty firm in saying H-I. If there are etched lines on both the winding check and the
ferrules, and they match with eachother, I'd say it's an early Monty.
It's been re-wrapped in a couple different colors of thread, and the spiral wraps near the tip suggest to me that the tip has been split or broken and wrapped for reinforcement. Since it was re-wrapped, the ferrules could have been replaced as well. Unless there's something special about the rod, like it's an 8' or 7'6" rod, with all sections the same length, and in great shape, I'd say it's not worth $119. If you were wanting a Granger, you might want to send it back and wait for the rod you want. . . . Rex
