How difficult is it switch a Peerless 1 from right hand wind to left hand?

Very easy. If I can do it, anybody can! Ive got some instructions around here somewhere, but in essence, you just remove the backplate and flip the big U
shaped spring over.

I just switched over my Peerless 2 from lhw to rhw and it is really as easy as he said. Just take off the back plate by taking off the 4 plate screws and there
will be a block that holds the spring in place on the inside. Just loosen the two screws on the block, slide out the spring, and slide it back in on the
opposite side. Simple as that.

Hey Bill, your Peerless 1 won't be near as complicated as the Peerless reels with the externally adjustable click/ pawl shown in the link pics. and even
those are easy!

I changed my Peerless 1 right after I bought it and it took all of 10 minutes, had to actually stop and have a look that I did it right, as I couldn't
believe it was that quick, or I would have been done in less time. I was a little leery at first as to what I was getting myself into but if you remove the
backplate it will be really self explanatory.

One other thing, on the Peerless 1 model, you adjust the strength of the click /pawl by where you position the spring under the little 2 screw block.

Does Peerless sell just the back plate assembly to convert an old non-adjustible reel into an adjustible one? just a thought...
