I have acquired (for the princely price of $18.00) a three piece bamboo rod and am looking for help in identification of the maker. It's a three piece rod,
when assembled it is a 8' rod. It also came with and additional "heavy" 3' section that the seller called a Bait fishing/Surf configuration.
the additional section is 3' long and when installed makes a rod of 5' 4" overall length. All these lengths are from but cap to tip.
The rod has a Red and Black decal, which is mostly obliterated. It appears to be oval and had a black trim, red background and black lettering. The lettering looks like it starts with M or N and has a very complete E next after the first letter. The final letter is a clear "D".
The guides are wrapped with Twisted Black/Yellow (or Gold or White) with Black Trim Rings. The second tip had a long blue spiral identification wrap in two sections.
There is a Saddle/Ring hook keeper. The Reel seat is forward of the cork grip. The reel seat (including all other hardware) is chrome steel. It is a threaded type seat.
The coark grip is in the Half Wells style with a butt cap shaped like a funnel. The small end of the funnel but cap is tipped with a Green rubber bumper.
Any help identifying this interesting rod would be greatly appreciated!
Mike.
