my cover shots | #61 | ||

Some pics from a recent article-trip to Iceland. Hope you enjoy them. Sorry for the copyright but my friend with whom I make these trips insisted because they
are not published yet in the mags here. We take turns in taking pics on our trips by the way. Hope you enjoy!

FYI rod is a bamboo-ferruled Seatrout 8,5ft #7/8weight Garrison taper from Hans-Jürgen Schlecht, reel is a wonderful Siskiyou. A perfect light salmon/char/big
trout-combination!

Another example of the type of cover you won't see on FFM these days:

Well, it's the eighties and I still don't think that these Pennsylvania Angler cover shots would make the cut in a '09 mag.... even in color!

My wife fishing on the Deschutes during a very good salmonfly hatch, and the fishing was very good too.

I remember as a kid fishing the Deschutes during the salmonfly hatch. Just stick a live one on a hook and pull out a trout. I only do that now when I'm
desperate.

"In The Crack" also known as the National Monument of The Black Canyon of the Gunnison
Note my fishing buddy John Oppenlander standing on the rock on the right side of the gunny. John is 6'6" so that sortof puts it into perspective.
And the most ephemeral shot of a rod and fish I have ever taken; The beast of Bolo and a North fork Cuttbow First fish on that rod.
Creek fishing with Dad on his 84th birthday somewhere on Grand Mesa
A pan bow
A pan brookie sulking after being caught
And another caddis bites the dust
Bye bye mayfly;
And A Gunny stone with a very out of focus Deloresboy in the background
Mike Canazon and a gunny bow
And a red quill from the North fork
