Remarable shots aren't they? Some of those could've been shot on the Henry's Fork. We get treated to the ospreys every day. I've even had
one take a fish that I was casting to.

Reminds me of the bald eagle that would perch on a dead pine overlooking a favorite high meadow stream. We would see him every year from our camping site
as he would take off, soar over the stream and then drive like a rocket. His success rate was one we always tried to emulate.

I assume this is not catch and release........when you think about it, the best thing that happens to fish is the few moments they spend involved in a tug of
war with one of us before being admired and released.

That is a wonderful series of shots. I can't imagine how many frames (or pixels in the modern world) he must have exposed to get the series--focus,
lighting, posture of the birds and trout....simply amazing. I seem to remember someone posted them here about a year ago as well but I'm delighted to have
them show up again.
We have Osprey diving frequently in saltwater near our home but I've never seen them up close like this. And I once saw an eagle take a 14 inch rainbow about 10 feet from my float tube while I was fishing dries to risers in a Washington lake. I've never been able to decide whether I wished I had had a camera or the eagle's luck. |
