I like Thomas Ames, Jr. Hatch Guide For New England Streams.
The book is filled with info on how to fish different insects. Randy |

It was a lucky day many, many years ago when I ran across Almy's book - a wonderful treatment - way ahead of the curve, imho...

Native Brownie is right on about the Almy Book. Might be the best reference work for PA spring creeks in the summer. Many great fly patterns by the late
Chauncy Lively are included in the book. This book minimizes the frustration when fishing the Letort - now one has a remote chance of success

I've just ordered a copy of the Almy book after no luck with inter-library loan. I'm quite curious to see it. Lawrence

I'm happy to see mention of Gerald Almy's book. I knew him way back when. I think around the time he was working on this book. Fished with him alot
back then especially on Falling Springs. I was wondering if anyone might have contact information for him. I found mention of him on the internet somewhere and
sent a note but never heard anything back. If anyone has a way I could drop him a note I would appreciate it. I would think his book is the most complete work
done on fishing terrestrials. Thanks
