Can anyone confirm whether a spool from a 3 1/4" Bougle Mark VI will fit a 3 1/4" Mark IV? I need an extra for my Mark IV.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes, it will fit. The only difference will be that the Mark VI will be perforated on the inside as well as the outside. I was unable to find Mark IV spools
also, so resorted to the Mark VI.

Thanks Jon. I thought that may be the case but wanted to be sure before ordering an extra spool.

Yes, they'll fit. Eventually I've found three original spare spools for my 3" Mk IV Bouglé, but I've fitted a Mk VI spool on it.

What was the reason for that Wilfred, to make the reel a little lighter? I have the same reel with two original spare spools. I'm not sure I need a third
one atm but maybe I should be looking for a MK VI spool as well?

A typical example of me reaching / crossing the borders of my ability to produce a correct and understandable English sentence...
I meant to say that a Mk VI spool fitted when I tried it, but I still preferred and eventually found Mk IV spools to use with my reel. But there is a weight advantage, although in my opinion it's too little to bother, really. The Bouglé spool is very lightweight. Wilfred de Bruijn
