As Banjo noted on the Forum masthead Wednesday morning, he is shifting ownership of Clark's to Todd Larson. Todd's partners in this shift are Patrick Garner and Jeff Hatton. As many of you know, Todd is the owner of Whitefish Press, Patrick Garner the author of a recent book about EW Edwards and Jeff Hatton is a rod maker and author of "Rodcrafting." Although all of us are active participants at Clark's, Jeff's work as a moderator dates back to the original days when the site first appeared.
Sante's stewardship has been exemplary, and the evolution of the site under his leadership has been laudable. Clark Davis' original intent to celebrate and discuss classic fly rods and tackle will always be honored. Any changes, when they do occur, will be be gradual and undertaken with the intent of broadening our interests and not with the intent of changing the nature of what has already been created. What we have here is special and will be protected and maintained, and that means, of course, the board will remain ad free.
We also anticipate that, come April, many of the forum moderators will still be cruising through the daily threads as they do today. Sante has shown an amazing knack for selecting dedicated and skilled enthusiasts to watch over the forum. We intend to maintain that spirit.
Over the next several months, we will be creating a formal steering committee to ensure the long-term stability of Clark's. The committee will be composed of a small number of forum members who care deeply for the site, and will help make decisions on the long-term health of the site so many have come to love. We are very excited about some of the possibilities being considered at this time.
So it is with great excitement that we look forward to the newest phase of the Classic Fly Rod Forum. We will endeavour to make the shift as painless as possible for users and moderators alike. Many thanks and tight lines!
Todd, Pat and Jeff
