Ads on the Forums |

Uh--is it just me, or are other people getting ads linked into posts on the Forum? It's a weird experience--the ad images are so integrated into posts,
that it took me a moment to realize they are ads-- images of Nikes right beside images of Bamboo.
I guess we burned up our 7 1/2 million ad-free views pretty fast? bb |

bb, what operating system (windows, OS X, UNIX) are you operating, and which browser (IE, FireFox, Safari.....) are you using? I have a iMac with OS X, and
Safari (with Block Pop Ups checked yes), and don't see any ads at all. Good Luck. Mark

I have not seen this phenomenon but please alert if this happens again. There should be NO ADS on this forum.

I clicked on this post and saw adds on 3 posts,I logged in and there gone . I sometimes get on forum and have a reply typed and find I,m not logged in so the
adds will remind me to log in. Daryl

Because this is a Gold Community members do not see ads when they are logged in, if they are not logged in Yuku has no way of knowing they are a member of this
community, i.e. ads run on every board but the filter that ensures you don't see an ad in a Gold Community is by being a member and logged in.

Moma Mia--something HAS changed.
I've been on the Boards for a couple of years--I usually don't log in unless I have something to post. Today is the first day that I saw ads when not logged in--it's not the OS, it's not the pop-up blocker--this is a new system that incorporates ads into posts. It's only slightly less obnoxious than ads that overlay content--. Even Banjo's clarifying post now comes with an ad for hip and sporty footwear. Yuku clearly changed something. Sigh. At the least, it gives me a good reason not to buy the advertiser's stuff--I've never been fond of a hard-sell sales pitch. bb

I've been seeing ads when I go to any members page and click on the "view my images" page. I think its been like this for quite some time. No ads
on regular posts that I have seen, though.

This is quite odd. I too found an ad in my profile page by a rodmaker "High Desert Flyrods". I don't see where that would make any sense, so I
inserted my question if that is proper and usual. I posted in the category of Technical Support.

When you signed on to Yuku as a member you were given a profile page where you will see ads if you are not a Yuku Gold Member ($6 for 6 months or $12 for 1
year). Each forum (community) will see advertising unless they are a Gold Community which we are, if a Gold Community has funds it won't see ads if it is
deficient in funds it will.
If you only visit here and are logged in you won't see ads here but if you go to another forum you may or may not see ads depending on if they are a Gold Community and are current with their funding.

To become a Yuku Supporter, i.e. prevent ads while in your profile, go to your account (next to your profile) and you will see a bar menu, choose Yuku
Supporter and you will be given options (I can't see what they are as I am one already and the only thing I can see is my expiration date and history).

Computer programmers; by and large an undisciplined bunch of overpaid ninnies. They are always rushing code into production before fully debugged. Too
bad we have to live with their lack of professionalism. Yeah, I know some don't merit my criticism...but the large majority do.

I do not ever remember seeing ads when I forgot to update my membership and was not logged on. I still have not updated my membership and I do not get these
ads on the fiberglass yuku board. Strange.
