I think that you can break down bass fishing into a couple different Genres..1)Glitterboat fishing on the big lakes 2) Pond & Small lake fishing, and 3)
Stream Fishing. Each of those Genre's has its own following, and you can choose to do what you want...I'm not a big fan of big lake or pond fishing,
but stream fishing and canoeing are passions of mine...I enjoy few things more than a fishing trip down a remote stretch of river.
We dont have much floatable trout water here in Missouri and what we have is popular with floaters and waders alike. Thankfully, we have a lot of great smallmouth rivers nearby. Give river smallmouth fishing a try this summer. I dont think that you will be disappointed. Cheers.

Stomias, now that fish would be a HOG here! Great catch!
I love to fish for trout, wild trout, the hatchery raised stuff here in Missouri doesn't interest me much. Now smallies....they'll always be my favorite. Vic |

Here's a Toledo Bend largemouth. I like the way this one kept jumping.

Fishing for Smallies versus Trout...... It is like picking a girl up in a bar. The smallie is usually the girl a guy of modest means and looks goes home with
at closing time. A little larger, can give you a hell of a fight when you cross her. Is easier to pick her up. the trout is the cheerleader that you have to
work at to get. Like in high school.. Beautiful, pretty, popular, lives in nicer neighborhoods. Can be a pain in the ass with different sizes of flies,
hatches, places where they live are sometimes restricted, hard to get to and crowed....., but the risk is usually worth the reward. Both are a win win. If it
has gills, it is worth chasin!! Unlike most women.
