Hello all;
I've been enjoying reading this board for a while, and I have a question about a couple rods I found today while poking in the corner of an antique shop.
The first is a Heddon 7'6". "featherweight" is written on the rod, although the sales tag says "bluewater". Its a 2-2 all pieces full length although the tiptops do not match. One is a std wire fly rod top, the other is an agate. It has a white plastic ivory looking reel seat. Original bag in a Heddon tube minus the cap. One wrap has a loose end and a ferrule may be a very little loose. Marked at 150, I am thinking this might make a good fisher with very little work and dickering. But is bluewater compatable with featherweight as a model?
The other rod looks to be a well made 3-2 9'. The only inscription is "tested and certified" and 10.00. The signature wraps (if they are) are 5 thin red wrap with 4 thin gold in between.. Again all full length and a replaced tip-top (a bait rod top on one). The wraps are good, a slight set in one tip.. An aluminum reel reat with side rail groves. No bag in a black fiber board tube. Marked at 125. Any thoughts to maker on such limited info? I am not likely to get pictures in the shop.
I'll be building a rod in class this summer, this will be an intrim/backup -
A bit in need of detail maybe, but what thoughts may the experiened of the board have.
Thanks
