It is free for 30 days I think, but it is worth any price. I have no commercial interest. Not only does he do dynamic stress modeling but has a design by deflection function that may change the way you think about fly rod action. Max has a forum for questions, and I would be happy to assist anyone who has a serious interest in how the program works. (jerryfosteratcomcast.net) This may appear to be blatant pimping but I can assure you all I have to gain is a headache, and maybe help someone who has a serious interest in designing better rods. Jerry Jery Good idea. Here is one I have rolled around in my mind for a while. When I was working I was associated with a couple of organizations that held an annual conference. Several months before one of these conferences there was a "call for papers". The conference then set up a schedule of presentations and the authors of the papers give a presentation on their paper. They also combined all the papers into a book that was distributed to the conference participants. Perhaps something like this could be done at one of our outings, The outing committee could take orders from those who wish to obtain copies of the proceedings. This would be a cost effective way to distribute the material with those wishing to have copies picking up the cost of printing. Powerfibers and The Planing Form would also make a good repository for papers of this nature if Todd and Ron would be willing.
