I happened upon a nice old W&M Granger Deluxe today....the label on the tube says it is a 9053........and the Wright & McGill stamp on the butt section
is on the left side of the rod.....I think I read somewhere that on the earlier rods the Wright & McGill stamp was on the right side......it has the
up-locking reel seat with the 1938 patent date on it, and the tube is aluminum (some sort of off red color) with a heavy knurled cap on a bead chain.
I would appreciate any info you guys might be able to help me with on the particulars of this nice old rod.....particularly about when it was built, and the line weight....I have another Champion that is a 9050, which I think is supposed to be a 5 or 6 wt......it has the fiber tube, metal screw on cap, and it is a Goodwin Granger.
Just would like to get up to speed on my new finding.....thanks very much, steve
