Guys, I have been recently interested in accruing some Vintage Reels for my Cane, as I figured if I was going to swallow the koollaid I mine as well use both
hands to hold the glass-- My question is- You never see Line capacities on the reels. I have obviously figured out that they did not list them on the older
Click and pawl Hardy's and other manufacuters I see here on this sight. Is there a say to figure what the line capacities are for the reels when they only
list list 3 7/8th or 2 7/8th etc. I noticed that the old School makers Hardy etc. used the same diameters. Can someone let me know what the capacities are,
say I want to purchase an older Young reel that will hold a my 4 wt DT line. I just dont want to purchase a reel that is too small or large. Another
question, (for example- what does the 3 7/8th number stand for) it is the diameter of the fly reel, weight etc.... Could someone out there give me a quick
education??????
thanks in advance.
