South Holston bow I fished the 4wt for a while and then went to the 9660 when the wind came up.
Drove up high and grand slammed on "I'd tell ya but I'd have to kill ya" creek.
JD wasn't fishin boo but you can see casting under the dogwoods in bloom
Wild fish from the creek
They do still stock a few bows up in this area (very close to the stop stocking line) but they pig out on the BWO's and are damn near as spooky as the wild ones here.
I was still tying a fly on and putting mucillin on my leader and JD got the first brown of the float. Dirty scoundrel caught 3 fish before I wet a line. But as I told him I caught all the high class fish.
And I did get the
fish of the trip. Although he broke one off that was a real beaut (middle or high 20's)
Fished my 9660 on the big water and my 7030 on small silk the whole time and the guide was really impressed by its casting qualities. Exact quote "I can see why you like this stuff it casts with no effort."
My buddy took a lot more pics and most of the really big fish are on his camera. (and maybe now I've figured out this posting pictures thing finally) Caught a screamer on the watauga that took us down 2 pools and finally stopped right in front of a bunch of guys having shore lunch old Perfect was really singing and they all came running down with camera's (JD shot a 20 minute movie that is really cool). Matt (our guide) laughed like crazy when I suggested he stop and hand out some business cards.
I was the only guy that fished all boo but at the cookout a lot of guys wanted to cast 'em and see and play with the silk. Consensus is we caught a hundred or so over the 3 days of fishing. I have pics of a bunch and JD took a couple hundred pics.

I have fished the South Holston and
Watauga for many years. Probably some of the best tailwater trout fishing on the east coast. Here are a couple of my nicest fish from the So ho. I would
tell you where I have caught them but I would have to.......................

I
can't wait!
