Brian where are you finding all these rare old Hardys, there can,t be many of this reel made either. You got a key to the Royal Museum or something. So is it
silent check or is there a clicker inside ,looking at winding plate looks silent?Nice peice of engineering. whats the wind ratio? Daryl

1924-39 and gearing approx. 2 1/4 to 1 made in sizes 2 3/4 and your salmon size. This is a very unique reel I suspect, the marriage proposal is out but I am
taking a second look at Richards mint 3' Dingley and kinda wondering!!!! As it's not on the market, I will shake off the thought and just say what a
wonderful reel you have there, enjoy as it would be a rarity to any reel collection. So Brian, as you are wandering around looking for Dingley artifacts, is
this the kind of thing you are unearthing?

Now the other shoe drops... This reel was not made in Alnwick, but in Zurich, Switzerland, by frustrated watch makers who kept being fired after trying to make
watches with LARGE faces. Finally, Hardy Bros. found them sitting in a cafe on a side street and asked meekly, "Any of you like to fish? You do? We've
got this design, see, for a 17-jewel multiplier..."

Daryl, like I'd tell you where I find them?
Gary, rejection hurts but if Rich's 3" is all you want . . . and the answer to your question is "Yup!" Pat, it's almost as rare as a Dingley Climax (should that be re
phrased?)
Gone . . . |

Yes, "rare as a Dingley Climax" should be reworded. :-)
