Thanks Jim. I figured it was likely aesthetics rather than taper or hardwear. Have you ever used yours? It is a killer taper when you want to shoot a bunch
of line out in a hurry.

No I haven't. When I first purchased the rod the thought was to fish it. However, I soon realized the uniqueness and historical significance of the rod
and it has been kept in the rod cabinet in its original unfished condition.
