I recently acquired a 7 1/2', 2/2, Heddon Featherweight #10 Blue Waters rod which needs to be restored. I'm not sure that the red wraps on the rod are
original. What is the correct color for the wraps on this rod? Thanks in advance for any input.

Ray,
Red and Black Jasper early and an assortment of colors for the later rods. So it depends on the age of the rod. If you post pics I am sure someone can date the rod based on components and script. Regards John |

Sinclair's Heddon book gives sevral colors that used over production. I've got one #10 that had dark red with green tipping. Or so it seems.

although it doesn't look it was black and white before the varnished aged. I had removed a damaged wrap and looked at the underside. ( as was wisely
suggestted here)
