I know Gudebrod dropped their 00 nylon, anyone know where I can still find some? Specifically a spool of 541.

Good Morning Cane (Ken),
I have #541 in size A nylon and OO in silk, if one of these would work for you get back to me. Bruce PS I read your post under "my first bamboo rod" and a question came to mind. What ever happened to that old Monty rod that we were casting in back of the shop? That would be the time we lost one of the ferrules in the grass. As I recall, we never did find it. Also do you still have that Granger trade rod you got from Bob Corsetti while you were over seas? Bruce |

Hi Bruce! I have the 541 in Gudebrod silk and in A nylon. Looking for the 00 nylon. Have a tip on a Flea I finally need to re-wrap and the A looks bigger
than the thread on the tips. I could never get the silk version to turn out the same as Orvis' brown nylon wraps. That was a Southbend 323 that had the
ferrule come off while casting and "slipped the surly bonds of space" - never to be found. Probably in the same place as Alan Shepard's lunar
golf ball. Still have the W&M trade rod you refinished as a wedding present. The Saudi rod was a Granger Special 8040 - don't have it any more - went
as a trade for another rod, about a dozen rods ago.

Customtackle.com, out of Shelbyville, TN, lists 541 in 00 nylon, but the last time I tried to order it (couple of years ago), they were out of stock. They are
my last source for Gudebrod 00 nylon, in the few colors that remain. I mostly use goldenrod though, which they still had as of my last order. Damn shame the
color palette is so limited for a thread I really like. You might give them a shout to see what they have left.

Several years ago, I ordered directly from Orvis their "brown nylon" thread and they sent me the Gudebord 541 A. Have you called their rod shop to discuss? Just a suggestion. Cheers and Safe Fishing Bob |

I'll be glad to send you one spool of Gudebrod 541 00 that I have in stock. I was fortunate to stock up on Gudebrod's 00 threads in the 1970s. One spool less will not put me in an disadvantageous position. There is no charge. Just a friendly gesture for a rod builder in need. Who knows, I may even run out of something one of these days.
