Nacky, is the Salmon run just starting up the rivers? Nice fish for sure, though it is nice to not see a gloved hand grasping that fish. Looks like you are
having fun, there is no better fun in fishing than catching those Atlantic Salmon!

this time last year we were getting 3-5 a day , but they just aint there this year and i am fishing HARD , even the seals are entering the river cos there is
nothing at the mouth of the river , its grim..the grilse run may prove ok over the next 2 months. but i personally doubt it , all the scottish rivers are
suffering at the moment , 250 rods a day on the tweed with 1-2 fish a day getting caught isnt a good sign

I just spoke to a guy who went out on his son-in-laws lobster boat, he saw some salmon jumping but said they did not survive the seals probably; he said they
should have been in the river by last week. They are considered the June Salmon run, I have seen them in as early as May 28 so it is looking grim here as
well. It is early but last year probably was the peak run.

Out of curiosity only, do you throw those back, or do they head toward the freezer?

I may be mistaken but I thought he said he practices catch-and-release, in earlier thread.
