What Young book? | #24 | ||
|
Can anyone tell me why a publisher would not even print enough books to fill pre-publication orders?
I ordered/reserved a book through Medlar Press and have heard NOTHING whatsoever, even after numerous attempts to communicate with them through their website. Now wherever you look for the book it's listed as either "limited availability or "out of print" (!) What gives? Are they having production problems? Can anyone shed some factual, non-speculative light on the situation? Thanks in advance! Best regards,

It seems that something have gone wrong - ánd I can only advise that you use this page www.willowpitch.co.uk/jw_young.htm if the publisher don't answer your mails - and that way get in contact with Rupe Attwood himself - who obviously can sell the book direct now (page updated a few days ago). Good luck Reeldane |

Rupe's Out now, Too... | #28

Rupe just e-mailed me back to an inquiry I'd made for the book and unfortunately is out of them as well.
I, too have been on Medlars list for a long while and when I e-mailed them several months ago was told that I was still on the list to be notified when the book was to have finally become available, but I've heard nothing from them at all. Boo hoo for me.. guess I'll go fishing! Greg |

FYI-
I contacted Mr. Attwood directly as suggested via this thread, and my copy of his book is on its way. He also went so far as to inscribe the book and have it signed by Mr. James Young as well. Rupe is indeed a true gentleman, and I'm delighted to add his masterwork to my library! Best regards,

At long last and after a certain amount of confusion my copy has arrived.
It was well worth waiting for. Excellent job Rupe and thanks to the US distributor for untangling the knots. TC |

Signed copies of my book | #34

I thought that you may like to know that I met up with James Young last week (grandson of company founder J.W. Young) who very kindly agreed to sign all of my
remaining first print run books. If anybody out there would like one, please drop me a line at willowpitch@blueyonder.co.uk There is of course no extra cost involved!
I am always keen to see any interesting 'Young' reels that are out there Regards Rupe |

I wish I had checked in on this thread a couple of weeks ago. However, I received my copy from the publisher two days ago. It only took five days to arrive
here in Washington from England. What a very fine book! Thank you so much Rupe for your labors in providing us with this treasure!
