dder, a bridged Dingley and tight like you say, you have a beauty there. I call that a "unique" style, everything about this reel has character; you
have a rare one I believe, congratulations!

Thanks guys,I,m not to sure how rare it is,I had never seen one untill Brian showed his in the rod balancer post but there were some more posted in it so there
are a few out there. I do intend on using it,although I,ll try and look after it extra good as near new. Have taken some bad falls and always try and save my
gear even if it costs some skin. Remember sliding down wet mossy rock in a canyon long enough to think I was going to have to swim creek and wondering how far
I,d be walking wet to get back across but managed to not break anything or my gear and now I don,t go down there no more . Daryl

Mailman brought a box | #384
|
Got a box today with the 3 1/2 Hydra I got in the Lang's Store event recently (I was sad I forgot till the next morning ..but at least I missed the
frustration of trying for the real gems) But for $125 I am very happy with this for one of my 8 or 8.5 foot Grangers...
Papers and Box in good shape
I flipped the pawl and unless I am mistaken this is still the factory grease dried inside...
I think it will hold a silk DT 5 and give or take 100yds we'll see (papers say 90 but spool is deep) I fish a lot with Marquis and Perfects and they sing very nicely. Don't have a feel for how much yet but this girl is louder... considerably so... Certainly not the equal of one of the perfects but seems a nice reel and I am looking forward to getting her on the water as soon as it stops raining. ( I am building a casting deck on the back of the ark just in case it doesn't and we will be bringing waaaayyyy more than 2 cows, ducks, pheasants, geese and any other of the tastier animals )

Two new-to-me Hardy Perfects added to my collection:
1950-60s 3 3/8" dup. MkII near mint with original box. Will be loaded with a DT6 line, married to my early 60s Hardy Phantom 5/6wt and used a lot! Post-WW II (but only just) Jimmy Smith made 3 3/4" wide drum in its original box. My third 3 3/4 inch salmon Perfect, in my opinion the best looking (proportion wise) wide drum Perfect size. Thanks Randy, I did. Interesting that my 1920-30's Dingley Perfect has the main frame so similiar to your; I can only hope to get that check, goals are
good.

Fathers Day present and a new Dingley | #390
|
My wife and son presented me with a new Arne Mason case for my Godfrey 306 for Fathers Day. A recent purchase of a 3 inch Dingley with a nice D4 stamped
inside. That is scratch on the frame, not a crack.

Later Millward Flycraft | #391

Have had an older agate line guided Millward Flycraft for some years and have been very pleased with it. Just resently this 3½" came my way. It's
changeable from let to right (incl the the line guide). Not quite sure about the vintage - but assume late 50's ?

bow river wrote:I purchased three reels lately, but for two of them I'm awaiting delivery. I'll certainly shoot some pretty pictures (individual / collection / on rods) with our new digital camera and post them here. I like showing off my own reels (almost) as much as looking at reel pics posted by others! Wilfred de Bruijn

Thx Rich
No one replaces YOU as the Dingley King. Not new feet. Machined ORIGINAL FEET for use in modern times. Still can find the "D-2" on them. Would bet Walter would love to have these actually FISHED 80 years later. He was not a Museum Curator Greg "Eventually all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. How do you guys find this stuff? I spend hours looking in what I assume are all the usual places every day, and invariably come up empty. Realistically
though, I don't expect anyone to reveal their secrets!

Just received a beautiful and in very good condition Ari T Hart F2 "Rio orbigo". This is an very early edition made in 1983.Came with two extra
spools as well. Only blemish is that original owner had it engraved with initials.

Randy Law wrote: Appreciate that Randy. The "best" one and my favorite is still the strap-over, brass-caged, Tele Latched, 99% Lead BEAUTY....the sound, the strength of the check, the aura!!!
To me, the fact that so many of these Reels are 70-80-90 years Well And they simply seem to patiently sit and wait for their "chance" to work for a wild Salmon or Steelhead . Just like a real Bird Dog that waits all year for the Autumn and wild birds! Greg "Eventually all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.
