It's a gorgeous, well-made reel and gives me the same feeling I got when my then $200 Robichaud arrived a number of years ago. Sacrilege?

Well, I'm admittedly late to the party...again...but my Cascapedia Mk.II 2/3/4 just arrived today. (It's been on back order for almost three months
due, no doubt, to all the like orders from Forum members.)

Congrats with a very nice reel. Mine gets used quite frequently, loaded with a WF4 floater and it's just a joy to fish.
I find myself grabbing this one when the circumstances are a bit rough. Enjoy! Wilfred de Bruijn

Hardy Cascapedia Mk. II | #123 | ||

I just spooled mine with a new SA WF-5-F and 30 yds. of 20 lb. Micron. Plenty of room left.
In fact, the right DT-5-F might just fit with 10 yards or so less backing. It is a heavy reel, however. (I question why the designers didn't drill the spool?) It nicely balances my 8'0" Dickerson 8013 taper by Chris McDowell. Best regards,

Does anyone happen to have any pictures of the inside of the larger models?
I'm curious to see what the "one-way steel clutch" looks like that's mentioned on the Hardy site. |

Fellows...I just put in an order for a MarkII 2/3/4 and have spent the last 20 minutes frantically searching the archives for reassurance that the Cascapedia
is reversible! I even went to two recent Hardy/Greys catalogs which failed to mention this feature. Am I losing my mind??? Help!

Persaud, I'm hoping to come to Quebec in September. I'm visiting my good friend Faruk Ekich on the Saguenay. You're in New Brunswick as I
recall? Send me an e-mail or pm and tell me how I can make that journey and see you as well. I'm travelling in an ancient car.

I am in Nova Scotia, close enough for me to meet you in Quebec or New Brunswick. You could not pick a better time to be there. Will PM |

![]() I just got mine! It is a superb reel...truly elegant and with a beautiful
voice! I honestly don't understand why it's designated the 2/3/4...I've just loaded mine with a WF-6 (Cortland Spring Creek). I chopped off @
20' of the running line and have a ton of backing as well. I think I could have loaded the full line and still have room for close to 75 yds of backing.
But, hey! I can cast a fair line and very seldom am I called on to cast 90 feet with a 6 weight. I love this reel!
I bought my first Hardy (LRH Lightweight) with an Orvis Midge in 1965. I still have it plus 6 or 8 others, both modern and antique and I must say; this
Cascapedia is one hot (!) attractive and wonderfully functional reel! I don't need no stinking Angel or Zane...! Give me a day and I'll post a pic of
my lovely Korean made Hardy Cascapedia mounted on my lovely Bob Hosack 7'9" 6-WT. They are a match made in heaven!
This is my idea of a Hardy 3-wt with the appropriate Bob Hosack rod. It's a Bougle' Baby...
At the top: Fiona Ritchie inspects the new Cascapedia for quality...she gave it two paws-up! Below: My new Cascapedia on my new Robert Hosack 7' 9" 6-WT

I just got my 2/3/4 too! With a nice discount from my local fly shop. (I always feel guilty if I order something from a catalog or website, what with the
local guys struggling in this economy.) I agree with others' comments about the capacity being under-rated. I only loaded 30 yds of backing to be safe
under a DT-3. Plenty of room left. And if this reel fishes half as nice as it looks, it will be great indeed.

Mr. Goins,
When I lived in Livingston, MT...I had a friend, a young guide at Dan Bailey's who had a cat who went fishing with him on the Yellowstone, in town. I liked the kid, but I was very envious of him...because I owned a cat (Fiona Ritchie, seen in an earlier post...she was born in Livingston!)...and I could not get my cat to fish with me! I love her very much, she critiques my art, and my reel purchases...but she won't go a' fishing with me!
