Hundreds, somewhere between 150 and 200 for David Slater reels from 2 1/2 inches to 8 in wood, brass ebonite German Silver and aluminium.
2 Hardy reels a Hardex with a modified spool housing and a modified Conquest both belonging to my Grandfather. About 30 Dreadnought Casting Reel Co/Percy Wadham and lots of early Nottingham reels. However I have friends with lots more, one with 500+ another with about 1,000 and another with thousands. |

Musical Accompaniment question. | #48 | ||

Count: Is that a vintage Tiffiany & Co. harmonica (also on the top shelf)? Does that go into your fishing vest?
What river(s) might we need to be paying attention on to listen for musical accompaniment? As Ed Zern once retold: I find trout enjoy a concerto by J.S.Bach. What works best for you? |

Count Macula I would love to see a closeup of those streamers above the Dallari. Speaking of the Dallari I almost made the mistake of selling mine. Silly me.
Do I see more of Dallari's work on the shelf below?
I like the inclusion of those spear points as well. Wow, lovely and remarkable collection. folks that sure looks like a calendar pic to me Paul |

Ponsonby Britt wrote:It is a Tiffany harmonica (though made by Hohner for them)...only a few years old. It was a gift from a grateful employer. As for what tunes the trout prefer...unfortunately, I haven't found the summoning notes...nor do I have the skills for a streamside audience. I'll keep trying on both counts. Paul, I'll take some pics of the streamers. I agree with you on the Dallari...I have no plans to sell mine. They are exquisite. I only have the one...the shelf below contains fly boxes. Thank you for the compliment. |

1. in this for money orThat sounds like (almost) how I split my 'collections' up - 1) an irresistible bargain 2) a must have piece for my collection 3) another 'accumulation'

I have just counted. 14 Hardys of which I use 2 and am about to bring into use my LHW St George Junior to go with my new 7' cane rod from Stephen Woolley
of Ashbourne, 6 Dingleys including a red agate silent wind, unfortunately in very poor condition, 5 probable Dingleys (some sold as Dingleys and some as Walker
Bampton) and 17 odds and sods. That makes 42 which is just over 5 per rod, although really only a few were bought to use. Unfortunately I couldn't make
Mullock's auction on Saturday or there would have been 2 or 3 more Dingleys.
