I wasn't looking for a "fine piece of furniture" and wasn't concerned about "hiding my stuff", but was looking for organization. I still have a bit more work to do, but I'm well on my way. Here's a picture:
Thanks again- Ken

Fly Tying Desk: Here's My New Set-up |

Thanks to everyone who provided comments, pictures, or recommendations on setting up a fly tying desk. After looking at several roll top desks, I
purchased a Model 107 Fly Tying Work Station from www.made2fly.com. I actually ordered it through www.goldenruleflyshop.com. Steve was easy to work with (via e-mail) and provided great customer service.

Nice Ken--was this your retirement gift to yourself? Have to wonder how long it will stay the clean looking. A good vise too--have the exact same model and
believe it or not, While not easy on this vise, I've tied some #26 midges on it.

The Danvise is my favorite vise too. I have bought two others and tried several more, but I love my Danvise. There is no way my desk would ever look that clean
or that sparse. I would have feathers, fur, and other clippings everywhere.

Danny, Yes, this fly tying desk was part of my retirement gift, along with the Heddon #20 rod and J.W. Young Beaudex reel. Hopefully, that will close out my
3-rod bamboo collection. Now I won't have to "get my stuff out" whenever I want to tie and then "put it all away again" when I'm
finished. The Danvise is a great tool; it was chosen as the best vise for under $100.00. I'm still not taking full advantage of its rotary capabilities,
but that's just me fighting the "old dog, new trick syndrome"!
