Does anybody care to give an opinion on this book? I did a forum search for past discussions but nothing jumped out at me. I remember when the book came out
but I don't remember anybody declaring it a must read. Is it worth getting??

Very much so on the must read list IMHO.
It's not a "how to" but a nice story of a couples journey through a Maine winter, some travels and building a bamboo fly rod. As far as the charectors go, you won't meet two nicer people. Also look for "Headwaters Fall as Snow" (Rumor has it Kathy has a third book due out) Pete |

I can't begin to say how many times I've read both Moose in the water and Headwaters fall as snow by Kat, both are must reads for me during
winter..........

As others have said great books and great people. I have two of David's rods and when I read about the rod building parts of the book I think about my
rods.

I think it would make a wonderful winter read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and even ordered a couple of her furled leaders. Good reading, great people.

A very good read. The only part that "bothered" me was about Kodiak falling through the ice. Having dogs, it was scary reading about it.
If you are "close enough" to make it out to SuperBoo in Feb, you can meet the main characters.

Wonderful people, great book. Anyone who's built a bamboo rod or thrown line with one will love it. Kathy's also a major mucky-muck with SuperBoo.
Everybody should have a copy.
