IMHO there are no bad Gary LaFontaine books, they're all very good. Have you given the non-tying books a try?

I agree with Leaky. I liked The Dry Fly. Lafontaine puts forth some interesting theories regarding attraction of trout in this book. You can't go
wrong with any of them.

As Hookedonbooks indicated all of Gary Fontaine's books are good & interesting. If you get a chance read Gary's earliest work "Challenge of the Trout"… it kind of gets you into the mindset of the author quickly and hence the books that followed. |
