thanks bow, certainly nothing like the river of your namesake, but it's one of the two big rivers coming out of the TX hill country. It's a tailwater
fishery, and the lake above it is 170' deep. Our flow agreement with the governing authority is that if the lake reaches "conservation pool"
level on any date between Jan 1 and April 1, we will have guaranteed flows of 200 cfs through the summer. It started the year there, so we're going to be
able to support 12-16 miles of trout through the summer. And even through the drought of the previous two years, 5-lb. trout and wild fingerlings were being
caught.

Richard, when you come down, look me up and I'll take you to our water - it's not like your home water, but there will be a good population of very
good fish that have held over from this year.
just remember it's 200 miles from Houston to here... |

Pick-up an Orvis Impregnated Superfine last week. The guy threw in an Orvis Battenkill Featherweight with no line or backing on. Should I use this reel with
this rod or find a different one. Fish the Namekagon where fish range in size from 6" to 22 plus Opinions please

Which rod is your Superfine?
I own a 7ft Superfine. I think it's amazing with a #4 line, although I also like it with a #3 line as well. Jay |

That should make a very nice all round rod.
I bet anyone can have only one of these rods and be happy fishing it for almost any trout situations (excl. big streamers). Jay |

this was a common sight yesterday
had a very good day
By lunch, I had netted 9 trout and one more after lunch, so 10 for the day, 5 bluegill, and 5 good hookups/LDRs that ran me around long enough to be fun enough
The Varden was in good voice. this 20+ incher was not even my best fish - the best was closer to 24" and after the long fight, got her back in the water quickly
another pretty gratuitous trout shot
there was one big female in a trough in the dolomite that I hooked up four times and never managed to land her (I only counted her for one of the good hookups. OK, I took one shot of the big fish

Hey voodoofly,
First of all, welcome to the board. Those pics definitely put a hex on me , those some nice fish you're
catching there. Oh! and the reels aren't bad looking either!
Tight lines and screaming drags! Terry
