I figure guys that can see beauty in a bamboo rod and old reels probably drive a pretty diverse selection of cars. Here's my ride. Show us yours.

What year is that Mini? I just last week bought a 2005 Mini Cooper S for my wife. Man, is that thing fast. I have put more miles on it than she has and
it's her car. As I was sitting in the salesman's office, I started thinking about the bamboo rods that I could buy with that kind of money. Damn what
a shame. I'll get a picture on asap.

Mine is the last of the old R53 platform, a November '06 build. I had the new R56 on order, but once I saw it and drove it I bought an '06 instead
...I just like it better. They are pretty quick and handle like go-carts.

Close your eyes and picture a dirty white mini-van.
As kids affectionately call it the "Luzer Cruzer" Gets me to work, the river and home again. My neighbor had a Mini Cooper - the first year they came out, would find him all over town stuck on a flake of snow. He finally totalled it by getting it air born and landing on the right front tire, bent the hell out of it. Pete |

Yep, they stink in the snow ....unless you put 4 Bridgestone Blizzaks on them, like I did.
First snow we had I came to a line of cars at the bottom of a large hill. Everyone was stopped and watching a 5-Series BMW trying to get over the hill ...but it slid back down. Then a Hummer tried, with the same results. Everyone was just sitting there wondering what to do. I was about 20 cars back and just pulled out, went around everyone and up the hill. Blizzaks are amazing. My car with Blizzaks does better in the snow than my wife's old Subaru with all season tires did. Dean. |

Very cool cars. My roommate in college drove a Europa. He helped me rebuild my first car ...a '66 MGB.

Bob and Rolf, based on your posts are you telling me that wives kill anything and everything we've come to enjoy?? Tell me now because I'm only 7
months in. I still have a chance to escape...not intact, but escaped none the less.

Under my wife's gardening tools and flowerpots and fertilizer in our wagon shed still stands a 3-litre twin-plug Electromotive ignition '69 911
conversion, with fuel cell and roll cage, now home to welfare kittens. I told my son a couple of years ago that he could have it, that all he had to do was
drive it away. He's married, too, with children.

I drive a 2000 Audi TT, .......with Blizzaks... in the Winter. This prompts opposite replies from certain classes of people. Some people think I'm awful
for driving a sports car in the winter, after all, I could drive my go-everywhere- in- any- kind- of- weather Subaru Forester. Sometimes in the Summer, when
I've planned to go fishing, my wife borrows the Forester and leaves me with the Audi TT. Parked on a muddy shoulder between a trout stream and a dirt road,
an Audi TT really looks out of place, or at least in need of immediate assistance. Rod cases don't fit real well either....you have to fold the passenger
seatback forward. And wet waders smell up a little car like that very fast. In the Subaru, when driving, you're at least four feet from your gear.

When I got married I was driving a '73 Mustang Convertible, one of the last of the weak muscle cars. 351Cleveland with a 4 barrel, 4 speed.
Soon found myself driving a Subaru wagon 4x4, because the Mrs was expecting, she soon took over that ride and left me driving a 4x4 Subaru Justy. NOt one of my prouder moments, but it did go 240,000+ miles. Before the Mustang I was driving a '75 lime green pinto wagon, before that a Ford Fiesta. Pete |
