new from missouri interested in purchasing bamboo rod |

Im a young college student who has been fly fishing since i was real little, never used a bamboo rod but the more i read about them the more im interested in
buying one, if anyone can point me in a good direction on what brand, weight, length i would appreciate it. im looking for a good rod that is not overly
expensive and i fish for trout in small streams to medium sized rivers.

Welcome to the board. If you don't mind saying, where in MO are you? I live in Mountain Home, AR and we may well fish the same waters. In any case, welcome and I'm sure you'll find a reasonable priced rod among these guys. There are a lot of good quality used rods floating around and some of the most knowledgable purveyors of those little toys, frequent this board. Bob |

i now live in springfield mo but grew up in st. louis mostly fish lake taneycomo in Mo as well as the trout parks some times, am looking forward to head down
to arkansas soon and fish the white river any reccomendations on what area to fish and could you give me a little more info on how to find a decent bamboo rod

Just about anywhere on the White is great fishing, but if you make it down this way, just drop an email or call before you come down and I'll show you
where to fish.... you don't have to twist my arm much to get me out on the water!

I am getting ready to start going down to the Springfield area to start fishing again. I generally camp on the Niangua River with weather permits, or stay in
Springfield and fish the small streams in the area. Let me know what kind of fly rod you are looking for. Send me a private message if you wish. Let me know
what you are looking to spend. I realize some students drive Lexus and others hitchhike, so finances can be all over the board. Glad to give some pointers or
