Dennis was a pleasure to work with. Talked with me several times and even delivered ahead of schedule. I got exactly what I ordered and at $895 I consider it an excellent value.

Just got my new 7' 2/2 4/5 WT from Dennis. It is a Payne 98 taper. Craftsmanship is superb and it is absolutely beautiful. Tried her out today in the
backyard with a WF5 F and it performs as well as it looks. I really like this taper. I can feel everything the rod is doing. It makes it look like I might know
how to cast. It seems the less I do the better it cast. When I try to make it cast, I do poorly. Basically just start the back stroke---feel it load----start
the front stroke. I am one happy camper!!

I have had the pleasure of building two rods on Dennis's blanks - He makes a fantastic blank.
I have had the pleasure of casting his Payne 98 as well and the one I cast was sweet!! His finish is superb!! Glad you are enjoying the rod. Pete |

Dennis builds a beautiful, affordable rod (check my profile page for one nice photo).

I'll add my vote to Dennis's work, too. I've got a Dickerson 8014 from him, and it's a superb fishing rod. It's a real long line cannon,
but I can handle 10 or 15 feet of line with ease off the tip.

I do not have a camera that will do the rod justice. Go to stonerodco.com and click on the demos for sale. The second rod is a Payne 98 that was already sold
when I contacted Dennis. I asked Dennis to build another just like it for me. The only difference is I went with a darker reel seat insert.

Dennis does really great cane work I've only bought blanks from him -- 4 so far, plus a replacement section, and I'm not done yet. And his flaming
is fantastic. Run, don;t walk, to http://stonerodco.com/

Most pics of Dennis' cane work. This one was built on a blank based on a Divine Fairy taper from Power Fibers. 7'6" 3/2 4wt. Dennis
even made the morticed cork spacer. This is not a noodly Eastern rod! It throws a suprisingly tight loop. I'll have at the Townsend Gathering.
