Does anyone have any opinion of Olaf Kundrus rods? The internets are surprisingly quiet on the topic....

Thumbs up for Olaf | #2 | ||

I have an Olaf Kundrus 6'6" 2/2 3wt. It is beautifully finished, very nicely flamed. Mine has an agate stripping guide and the hardware is blued. I
tried a number of lines and settled on the Cortland Precision 3.5 wt. My rod was purchased new on Ebay from a German stationed at the German Embassy in Seoul,
South Korea.
Like you, I did not find a lot of info on Olaf. His website (translated into English) list a price of $1550. The Google translation is not very good. I paid $800 for mine and think I got a great deal. It is a small stream, dry fly fishing machine.

He's a member of this forum under gespliesste or at least was. If I remember correctly he's also a diplomat.

I just went to the website listed above. My 6'6" Kundrus hex 2/2 3 wt. list for 920 Euros which converts to $1424 in US dollars. Sometimes, even a
