I tried this on this site before and didn't have much luck so I thought I would try again.
Sometime in the late '70;s I went to a bamboo rod revival in Detroit . I bought a beautiful
7 1/2 ' rod that fishes well with a 5 wieght line. It's labeled "The Duracane" and has the
Leonard hardware ie. buttcap there is no other writing on the butt section. There is "161"
on the butt of both tip along with a single dot for tip one and a double dot for tip two . It
came in a bare aluminum tube with a brass cap /a tan /brown bag with a stiffener rod.
The wraps are "honey" colored. I guess you could say tan. The poeple who sold it had a
booth at the show and I beleive they were Anglers Mail from Parma Ohio I have no
paperwork or tag for this rod. I understand it was made or at least the blank was made
by Sharps. Could anyone give me anymore info on this, like what does "161" signify and
roughly the period when it was made. This is a sweet fishing rod and Iv'e fished it all
over Michigan and Wisconsin since I bought it. Thanks in advance. steve.
