D Bolin- I stressed them hot, and yes they were wet noodles, I could nearly tie the sections in a bow tie.
It suprised me but I couldn't get them to delaminate or open up at all.
Regarding sets, in the larger picture, I am of the opinion that we fret too much over sets. Of course big sweeping bends are of course one thing indicative of
poor quality, but slight sets in the rod in my opinion are to some extent inevitable...they are from catching big fish and heavy use, and in my opinion should
be/are small enough they don't effect the cast enough to matter. I wish I could claim I can make a perfectly straight rod that will hold up to a gray
whale on the line with every cast but I can't, and envy those who can accomplish that rod.
I almost tend to think that the heat treatment of the make has more to do to contribute to sets than the glue, or perhaps equally. And how a fish is played is
yet another factor.
Who knows...these rods are worse than women, in terms of figure them out.
