Well, one last time before the NEXT revision on my knee replacement. I'm heading out at about 8 AM Monday for New York. We're going to drive out, see
some sights along the way, spend a few days with Ron Kusse and Peachy, then head over to see Eileen Demarest for a bit, then to NYCity to see my youngest son
sing with his choir at Carnagie Hall.
I cancelled a much looked forward to trip to the Colorado Rodmakers Reunion. Seems I wasn't careful enough with the latest knee replacement. It appears that the lower prosthesis is broken away from the bone, so I'll be going in soon after the NY trip for ANOTHER surgery. This isn't supposed to be as bad as a total replacement. According to the surgeon, this "revision" is a cakewalk compared to a total replacement... we'll see... this is the same guy that told me "you'll be up and walking the day after surgery". My idea of walking was maybe with a cane or possibly a walker... his idea involved 4 orderlies and nurses holding me up to a walker saying "C'mon... take a step!" I don't expect to out of work for near as long on this surgery as I was on the last. Probably just a nice two week or three break and I'll be back in the shop.
In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing Ron, Peachy and Eileen. I'll give a full report as soon as I return (which will be as long as I can hide from my Dr!).
