Hi:
I tacked this question on to the end of an earlier and old thread, but I think it would get more notice if I asked it as a stand alone question. I cannnot help but wonder if the ferrule problem frequently cited with the Heddon Expert 125 and Premier 115 was noticed during their period of manufacture? I have a new and unfished Heddon 125 in the 8.5', 2F so I have a vested interest in the answer to this question. I have heard that the cracked ferrule problem can occur with little use so I would expect that this was occuring when these rods were being made. I have a strong impression of the quality of Heddon rods and I cannot imagine that Heddon would continue to produce these rods for four or five years without addressing the ferrule problem if it was apparent then. If the ferrules can fail with little or almost first use, it would seem that customers would have been getting back to Heddon about this and some changes would have been made. Were corrections made and were later rods of these two models wearing ferrules that addressed the problem? Last question, where in hell are all the tube caps for the Heddon rods? The caps that were not threaded on to the tubes seem to have disappeared in to some black hole. Are there a bunch of these tube caps floating around in closets all across America and people pick them up and wonder what they go to?
Any help with this would be appreciated.
