Sept. 27th. | #3 | ||

Folks, I just received this message from the maestro....
Mark you calendars Sept 27 is the date for the annual Martel bamboo rod gathering frolic. Come early and stay late we will feed you hamburgers and brats
once again. Bring rods to casts and more of your very own fishing lies.
John Schulte
Grand Marshal
Thanks John and David. |

Typically if you have a favorite beverage (fav. pop or drink etc.) you'd prefer, bring it. If you'd like to bring some cookies or a treat it would be fine but not expected. A burger or brat is cooked on the grill then jokes are tossed around at the "new guys". Don't worry, I'll point you out so don't bother hiding...

I would also like to thank Dave for all the food he brought and grilled, I didn't get a chance before he left. A very nice time with some great
people. Jim

Another good gathering! | #7 | ||

As always, we had another good gathering of friends and their rods. John Schulte and Dave Norling ordered up a fine day for us all and we were rewarded.
It was good to see you again Jim. Really good! And I hope to see you again next year. You might consider coming a bit early and stopping in for breakfast at the Barn with a few of us. It would be a pleasure. Paul, you and Susan were welcomed new-comers. It was totally by accident that I turned around and asked who you were. I'm glad I did. I was looking forward to meeting you but with all the faces and jawing, one can easily forget, as I had. You brought along some really nice toys, including that "fishing car!" Nice!! And Nate said to say "Thank you" for your compliments regarding his laying out some line. I just wish some of that would rub off on me... For me, it was a seasons closing end and a way to get a few friends all together in one group. Life's short. I value the comraderie. John and Dave, as well as a few other guys who helped get things going, deserve a huge "Thanks!" Jeremy. |

Glad to hear that you all had fun. Don and I had our own mini-meet this weekend on a couple of Driftless streams, high up where they're often a lot deeper
than they are wide.
Tight Lines! Alistair |
