I have just stumbled on this forum and wonder if anyone can help me with this.
When my father died I ended up with, among other things, a Pezon & Michel double handed rod.
I have a few questions about it that I wonder if people could answer.
The rod is a three section 14ft double hander, handle approx 30ins to the replacement rubber button.
Condition is good but maybe needs revarnished and certainly a couple of whippings replaced.
There is also a whipping midway up the middle section about 2ins long, perhaps to strengthen it after a strain, I don't know.
Still in its original three section cloth bag, so I assume there was never a spare top.
Whippings are dark green with a red tip.
Details, as far as I can read, coming down the but section towards the handle are as follows
Parabolic
Saumon
14
3 followed by something I can't read although I assume it means pieces
Pezon et Michel Just above a band of whipping in the French Colours
7 followed by a band of whipping
731214 5
These all appear to be hand lettered.
So from these few details can anyone tell me the correct line weight as I would like to use it, seems too nice to just hang from a peg.
When it was made and any other details about it.
Also is there anyone who could refurbish the rod, bearing in mind that I am living in Ireland at the moment and lastly
what is a rough value, not that I would ever sell it but I need a value to put it on the insurance schedule.
I would be really grateful if anyone can either help or point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Neil
