Just finished a one piece Lee Wulff Ultimate.
One of these days I will get one made and keep it for myself.

All you guys are amazing, as is your work!
saguache, shame on you posting cane porn. "Antique stripper", indeed. She looks as hot today dancing on that new stage you made for her as she did in her heyday. And bbamboo, lovely rod. What's the reel? Ken

Ken, the traditionally finished rod cast 4-5' less than the heretic with the heavier lines, couldn't hold as much backcast in the air. It was not a
huge difference. In close the heritage was really sweet with the Sage Quiet Taper line, the heretic still preferred the Terenzio.
Harry, if you saw the other side of that Ross Reel, an R-2, you might be less interested in it, but it seems functionally good, though I haven't fished it yet. Henry.

I think I recognise those sliding bands as Tom's SS. Are they?

Fresh off the bench, rod #16 for me, on Dickerson's 801610 taper. Tim
Took it out for a few cast before putting it away with a DT5 and smiled, will try a DT5 Thiebalt and an WF5 Rio Classic to see if widens. |

If I can be permitted a bit of shameless self promotion here, The stainless bands are ideal for an all cork seat. The inside of the band will never tarnish, so
nothing can rub off the metal and discolor the cork, as can happen with NS.
Disclaimer - I'm making an absolute fortune on the rings:-) |

May I also add that they look spot on in their simplicity, for a cork spacer on a light line cane.

Latest rod: 8' 2/1 for a 4 wt line. It is a taper that I must have tampered with at least 5 times. Think I got it to where I like it.
Thanks for looking. Robert |

Here is a rod that I just finished yesterday. It is a 9' 8/9wt 3/2 medium-fast/fast hollowbuilt quad made for saltwater use. Weighs in at a little over
6oz. Guides and stripping guide are REC Recoils. Wraps are clear gossamer w/ olive tipping and clear witness marks at 20", 30" and 40". Ferrules
are CSE Truncated step downs with olive gossamer overwrap for protection from the salt. Seat is a Struble hidden thread titanium seat with an amboyna insert w/
some nice olive highlights.

Beautiful work Chris,
Don't you just love those Recoil stripping guides? I recently restored a Dickerson Spinning rod that was missing the stripping guide and used one of the Recoil strippers. It just looked right. Robert |

I just recently completed my first rod! It was made in Bill Oyster's rod making class. An 8 ft 5 wt., Oyster taper. For a newbie this was quite an
accomplishment and I couldn't be more proud. After the class I fished the rod on the Toccoa river in North Georgia and christened it with a pretty little
rainbow. I'm trying to get geared up to continue making rods and I will have a lot of questions for members of the forum. I've caught the fever!!!

I hope this works.First time have used Photobucket or tried to post pics anywhere. This is the 17th rod I've made and my 1st time away from the traditional
look that I normally shoot for.Because of the amount of restoration work I do,which somehow more often than not includes way too many intermediate
wraps,I've never put them on a personal rod.Until now.I had made a Heddon taper baitcaster for my boss that had Java brown silk with no color preserver and
intmediates and liked the look so much that I used them on this rod.Even though the wraps go translucent, they turn very dark and you have to be close to see
the guide feet through them.Kind of like looking into a glass of root beer.I also got away from the usual cigar cork grip by using a mortised tonkin bamboo
reelseat and a cigar shaped grip of tam vang bamboo.I always have a lot of parts that I use when doing restorations and chose a antique wire bezeled red agate
stripping guide similar to the one on my Edwards era Winchester.Built on a PHY Midge taper that I tweeked just enough to comfortably handle a 3wt as well as
the traditional 4wt.Let me know what you think, pro or con,as I'm not sure if I really like the grip idea or not.
