This is my latest rod for myself. Semi-Hollowed 5wt 8½ foot E.C. Powell B-taper. Made the second tip heavier to make thet configuration a deeper flexing
6wt.

I agree with Gary that the rods shown here are just beautiful work. My hat off to all of you.
I´m posting the last rod finished for this season, so now I can go fishing... Semi-hollowed 7½ footer for a 4wt line. Thanks for looking.

That's a beaut Mats! I see you have been "Americanised"(2 tips instead of the traditinal European 1 tip rod)
 Can we blame that on Mike Brooks or do you take credit for that?

Mats, that is beautiful. Your wraps are absolutely flawless and the varnish work is amoungst the best I have ever seen. The butt swell is a nice touch, too.
Does it kill the action at all? Is this your own taper or one based on a classic?

Thanks for your kind words, Mike.
The taper is a slightly modified E.C. B-taper and it´s semi hollowed. The swell gives it some extra deliverance compared to a similar rod without the swell. I don´t know if it´s a better fishing tool because of that, but it gives it a little extra kick. // Mats |

I finished a rod for a customer recently. Here's his note to me about the rod -
Matthew, The 5/6 that you made me is a sight to behold. The beautiful craftsmanship of the rod makes it look like it was built for Ike Eisenhower instead of for just Mike Jacobs. Thank you for all the time and effort it must have taken you to build that rod. It has an incredibly sweet stroke and puts flies right on the money. I am one happy camper and now have a pretty darn decent Schliske rod collection. Regards, Michael J. Jacobs

this is a rod that i made to be raffled off to support the metolius bamboo fly rod show.it is based on a dickersod 8013 and is star hollow built.black onyx
gemstone composite inlay in the butt cap, nickel silver and the same onyx for the winding check and ferrule plug. 8' 5wt. 2/2.thanks for looking steve

If you keep showing my rods to folks please let me know in advance......the number of tickets I have purchased all ready it should be mine.....very very nice and what a class act in building the rod for the Bamboo shindig, thank you.....look forward to seeing more of your work at the show. And to the eventual winner of this rod...if you see a very large gentlemen with a .45 under his fishing vest....don't hassle me, just give up the rod ...I'm running low on ammunition and really need it for trips with Dave Roberts on the Rogue.
