I picked these two up as part of a couple multi-reel lots. Although they are very nice little reels I don't plan on keeping them and am looking for a fair
price range with the intent on offering them on the for sale page. I could eBay them at no reserve but would prefer they find a home here.
I don't know much about skeleton reels but will describe as best I can.
The first is a Pflueger Progress 80 yd and retains virtually all of it's plating. I don't think calling it "excellent condition" would be a stretch at all. It operates with a very smooth check and has the working on/off button. Marked with the bulldog and has a neat brown & yellow handle of some kind of early plastic?
The second is a Meisselbach Featherlight Model 270 (as so marked on the reel). Some of the plating has flaked off of the counter weight and there are a few area's of brass showing through the plating on the back of the reel but over all it has a very nice appearance. The clicker works good and on/off button works fine. It does not operate quite as smooth as the Pflueger IMHO, but is certainly fishable as is. The handle appears to be painted wood and there is some play up and down on the handle post.
Here are some poor photos....it's only January but I am getting tired of it being dark when I get home from work....I don't like using flash
Any help with a fair value and approximate vintage is much appreciated. If I get a good idea for a fair range I'll likely have then both on the forsale board this weekend.
Thanks
