I'm looking for a 3 pce slow to medium action #3/4 bamboo taper (DT3F preferably) in 7 ft-7,6 ft to make. I am familiair with the Hardy Marvel tapers. Any
other suggestions out there?
Thanks in advance, Wim

This link goes to a rod I built - Originally designed for a 5wt, when it was done, it's definately a 4wt, I like ot with a DT4 Thebault silk line. Also use an older Airflo 7000 series 3/4wf WF floatng line. Ferrules or 15 and 10 Pete |

If I'm not mistaken, there is a very old version of the Payne 198 that ends up being a 3/4wt rod. Later versions of the taper are much heftier, however, so
you'd want to be sure you got the old, light version.

The Hardy Marvel is a great taper. I don't know how readily available the tapers are but here are some slow 3pc 3/4wts I prefer....
7' 3wt Leonard Model 35 Catskill 7'6" 4wt F.E. Thomas 7'6" 4wt Divine Fairy 7'6" 3wt Leonard 38 1/2 8' 3wt Leonard Model 40 Catskill 8' 3/4wt Payne 200 (30s era rod) Some equally nice 2 piece rods..... 7' 3wt T&T TTT 7'6" 3wt T&T Caenis 7'9" 3wt Schlecht Ontario(?) |
