You can check out their website at:
http://www.teastickrod.com/index.php My understanding is that the lower end rods are Chinese made, while the American series is made here. Not sure about the one you are referencing, as it is probably an older model. I don't have any first hand experience in casting or fishing them. |

And as a further clarification, my understanding is that the American-made rods (that is, those made here) are from Chinese blanks, finished on the west coast.

I tried one out a couple of years ago, but forum rules of etiquette won't allow me to relate my experience, or the language I would like to use for describing the "stick". Let's just say I sent the rod back. |

I've never cast one, but there are forum members who have said the rods have improved recently. Of course with eBay, you'll never know what you're
getting, or its age.

I'm pretty sure that if the rod is labeled Tea Stick then it's likely one of the older rods which received some pretty poor reviews. These Chinese made
blanks were also sold under the Headwaters name. Sometime back, Headwaters was listed as the importer or U.S. distributor for the blanks and rods made by Zhus.
I think these folks were also the source for the Diamondback Bamboo rods which I think were blanks finished out by Diamondback.

Highland Mills Rod Co. Formerly Teastick Rod Co.
If it is marked as a Teastick Rod Co Rod I would assume it's from the "old company" The new imported rods for Highland Mills Rod Co. show significant improvement in quality, cane work, hardware and finish. They also have a pleasant castiing action. As for the "American Made Rods" The blanks are built here in this country, they are assembled and wrapped here in this country. They are beautifully made rods both in qualtiy of workmanship and cosmetics. These are the rods being sold by Cabela's If you have any questions please contact Thorney at Highland Mills Rod Co. or here as "Thorney5" Pete
