I was wondering if anyone on this forum owns a Wanigas Supreme Rod wich I beleive was built on Paul Young Blanks and sold by Art Neumann in Michigan.
If memory serves me they Wrapped in Black Silk. I would appreciate an owner posting pictures thanks, Buz |

Not sure they were young blanks, I do have a photo, but I don't have the upload feature on my PC, what I can do is send it through work.

A good friend of mine in MI has a small collection of Wanagas Rods and has a bunch of history about them. At the time, he and Art both lived in Saganaw, MI (Wanigas is Saginaw spelt backwards). He got the rods from Art Neumann's shop at the time. He has talked to Art a lot over the years and still does. For his flamed rods, Art used to go over to Paul Young's shop and cherry pick the rod blanks - this used to drive Bob Summers wild that Paul would let Art do it. Paul just shrugged and deferred to Art. For his blond rods, Art got them from Steve Smalls a maker in San Diego, CA. Art was a perfectionist - the Wanigas rods are really finished exquisitely and probably represent some of the best Young rods. Chris

I have several Wanigas rods.

thank you for the generous offer. it is, however, a loooooooong way for me to come to grayrock from germany, so I'm afraid I will not be able to make it. would love to see the pics though. thanks again! best, christian |
