Posts: 295 03/24/2008 11:32	Tags : None i thought i would share this the bow river has been fishing great so far this spring , this big monster wild brown , all 29 iches was caught by rob monger on the weekend , this is a hog of a brown , i have been using a 9 ft heddon trade rod , a L &C rod that i got from a member of this forum justin bolduc just to throw great big streamers and hoping to get a big one like this , i have been getting lots in the 20 to 23 inches , been using a silk line not dressed to get it to sink good and it has been working fine , oh maybe this week will be my turn for that monster , been some good rainbows to be had also , the water has been very very cold and can only stand it for about 30 mins then have to get out to warm up i have a few members from the forum coming to fish with me this summer with cane rods , i still have openings left for 1 week in july, 2 weeks in august and 2 weeks left in sept , if you want a chance to get some big fish like this then email me for a float trip booking , trip of a life time , i'll also take bamboo rods on trade for a trip from members as i have done it for others Richard Check out my site for vintage reels & rods , guided float trips on canada's # 1 best trout river http://bowriveradventures.googlepages.com/home

Posts: 25 03/24/2008 14:15	Thats one awesome fish. Good to hear your summers filling up. Wish I could see far enough ahead to book a slot. A look at a fish like that sure bumps the fever up . What a beauty and what a treasure the Bow is to have fish of that caliber. Thanks for sharing Daryl

Posts: 297 03/25/2008 09:24	brian was out again on the river yesterday , it was plus 2 for the weather with a strong wind ,made it very cold ,still lots of snow and ice on the banks , such a great big river and only seen one other guy fly fishing and he was using a spey rod , which was nice to just watch him when i was out of the water warming myself up ,they can sure throw the line them spey guys , he was putting it half way across the river , i never seen him catch anything as i think he's going way out past the fish , i spent roughly 3 hr fishing and hooked 8 fish and landed 5 , a couple small browns about 17 inches and i did get 2 nice rainbows , one at 22 inches and my biggy for the day a 24 inch rainbow that had the prettiest pink colour to him on his sides , he fought hard and i was even getting worried as i was using a 9 ft granger victory rod with a old red agate young reel that had no adjustable drag on it and he had me into my backing once , i 'm going to take a few days off now as the weather getting worse , i think if i put my time in now when it's the spring and not many fishing and the fish are not all that smart from having the winter to themselves then sooner or latter ol mister brown will make his wrong move on my streamer Richard Check out my site for vintage reels & rods , guided float trips on canada's # 1 best trout river http://bowriveradventures.googlepages.com/home
