Yesterday I got the book 'The fine art of angling' written by Diane K.Inman.The Book shows many reproductions of paintings from 10 still living painters ( Cleary,Crossman,Daly,Frazier,Hardie,Reneson,Shilstone,Brett James Smith,Stidham,Swan).Nearly all pictures show fly fishing scenes.A great book for anybody interested in paintings dealing with flyfishing.
Already some months ago I read the German translation of the novel 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen' ( Lachsfischen im Jemen ) written by the Oxford literature professor Paul Torday. One of the most interesting and witty books I read in the last years. It tells the story of trying to get salmon to a wadi in the Yemen for a flyfishing sheik.Although the book is about flyfishing its main theme is the behavior of politicians in a very ironical way.I guess though not everybody will like the opionions the the Oxford professor.Nevertheless one of the best written novels I read in the last years and as a bonus : dealing about flyfishing.I strongly recommend reading this book.
