I recently saw pictures of this reel and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. The "2" Baby looks like it would be a great reel for a
7' bamboo rod, and it sure is attractive. If anyone owns or has used one of these reels and has some comments on its fit, finish and usability, I would
appreciate your input. Ric

I have one, very pretty, but haven`t used it, just sits to be admired as I do often. Has adjustable drag and a low sounding click on pay. Bought off this site
for $225.

over time I have owned seven Marryat reels in models CMR34, CMR56, MR8, and MR9a. Obviously I like them very much. If I found a good deal on a Baby I would
have a heck of a time passing on it. My opinion is that they look beautiful and the fit and finish is excellent. They look nice on a variety of rods. An aside
- there are oodles of Marryat reels on yahoo Japan. Them must have a thing for them over there.

I, like Horsesho, have one (Baby 1) also unfished with boxes and manuals, and a solid as well as a perforated spool. It is not likely that I will ever use it.
Anyone interested?

I have the Baby 1 and have used it now a couple times and it is a fine reel. Nicer than the price reflects I think and they look so classy. Very smooth and I
like a quiet reel. These are silent on the retrieve. I haven't had a fish get into the drag at all so I can't offer much there. I am getting ready to
order the #2 size I think. On sale brand new w/ spool for $215, hard to beat.

A year later I found one for a good price. They are gorgeous reels, well made, don't weigh much. I fish my gold and black Baby 2 on a 3 wt 6'6"
fiberglass. Yes they are a classy reel.
